The Thurloxton Village Hall Committee

The Committee is made up of residents from across the villages and they are all voted in.   We meet every two months to discuss the hall and our social events programme.

Alastair R Wallace

Chair and Safeguarding Officer

Alastair was Vicar of Ilminster before he retired to Thurloxton six years ago.  He has been Chairman of the Hall Management Committee since 2015.

Bruce Howard

Bruce lives in Thurloxton and works in business banking. He has been a committee member since 2010 and helps with the running and organisation of village Hall events.

Kate Ives

A long-time village resident, Kate manages the family farm business and has been on the Committee for just over a year. A keen skittle player, she also likes to appear in the occasional Village Panto. 

Jonathan Glazebrook

Representative of the PCC

Jonathan has been on the Management Committee for 8 years now and enjoys being part of the team organising the various social events. He runs his own business, is a member of the PCC and likes gardening, especially cutting the grass!

Rossanne Lee-Bertram

Rossanne has been on the Committee since 2014. Still working, she is a freelance marketing consultant and is heavily involved with the Sub-Committee trying to get funds to re-build the village hall.

Hendrick Coombes

Hendrick runs his own business and represents the Parish Council on the Committee.

Treasurer

After 30 years in the city as a merchant banker and Pension fund manager, I retired to Somerset 25 years ago and worked as a coordinator for the Children’s Hospice S.W. for 10 years until retirement. I have been the treasurer of the church for the last 20 years and a previous Village Hall committee member.

Alex Brown

Health and Safety

Alex has over 50 years of solid business experience having worked in numerous industry sectors including oil, retail, textiles.  He’s been on the Committee for more than five years.

Philip Waterman

Philip is an ex dairy farmer currently working for Redrow. He’s been on the hall committee for two years.

Wendy Taylor Tanock

Just married to one of the local vicar’s, Wendy has been a PA for over 27 years, a partner in a business and a Guider for over 35 years.
