Gallery Thurloxton Village Hall
Because of Covid, we have no up-to-date pictures of events at the Hall but are looking to build up a new Gallery in the coming months. If you attend an event at the Hall and have some photographs you could share with us, we would love to see them.
Thurloxton Gardening Club Summer Show a Stunner

The ‘Best in Show’ went to newcomer Charlie Pepper for his miniature garden in a tin. Reserve Best in Show was received by Di Coram for her rose. Congratulations to you all!
Garden Party Blooming Marvellous
On Sunday, July 15th, Mark and Jenny Thorp, Clavelshay hosted an afternoon of cream teas in their beautiful garden with about 140 attendees. The weather was kind, the scones and cakes were scrumptious and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. The raffle prizes were amazing – baskets filled with summer fruits, wine, cheese and biscuits.
The Hall Committee would like to thank Mark and Jenny for hosting the event and everyone else who ‘pitched in’ by baking; putting up and dismantling the gazebos; bringing and returning chairs, tables and crockery from the village hall; serving; and clearing up.
Our guests were very generous as the overall ‘takings’ were the highest ever recorded for a single event organised for Thurloxton Village Hall (in excess of £1,300). This is a welcome and much-needed addition to our Thurloxton Village Hall Redevelopment Project fund.
Soups and Puds February 2018
Christmas Party December 2017
Panto February 2017
Craft Fayre November 2017
A new idea the organisation team worked very hard to pull it all together and it was really well attended. With over 15 different stall holders providing a variety of gifts, cards, wrapping paper, photography, knitted wear, woodwork, ceramics and mosaics. There was local wine as well as jams and chutneys too. Despite the cold, the gazebo was full of people enjoying the hot soup and other refreshments. Who would have thought there was so much talent amongst our residents? Will there be another one this year?
Queen’s 90th Birthday 2016
There was a lovely atmosphere with over 100 people attending. The Hog roast was prepared and served by Philip and Ruth Waterman and everyone brought a salad and pudding to share as well as their own drink. The tables were all decked out in red white and blue and there was lots of bunting. The jazz band got everyone swinging and Wendy Myatt’s singing was lovely! There were games for the kids and a raffle. Here’s a group photo of us all together celebrating.
A fantastic fanfare of gorgeous floral arrangements was held at St Giles Church to coincide with Her Majesty’s 90th and many came from outside the area to see it.
Thanks to the Quick family for ‘lending’ us Keirles Farm for the day.
